People often ask me how long I've been writing,
and my answer is "forever!" I actually can't remember a time when I wasn't making up stories.
I can remember my mom taking me to work with her some Saturdays, and she'd sit me at a typewriter (yes,
a typewriter!) to kill time. I would write short stories and poems, and then staple them together in a
book. My first taste of publication took place in third grade. I had been working for months on a story about
my summer vacation. My teacher noticed me constantly writing in a notebook, and together with my mom,
they typed and bound my book. The moment I saw my name in print, I knew I was destined to be a writer.
With a lot of hard
work, and a great critique partner, I finaled in the Barclay Sterling contest in 2006, and The Golden Heart contest
in 2007. Shortly after, I sold my first novel to The Wild Rose Press, A Date for Love.
When I'm not
writing, you can usually find me at Nordstrom shopping for shoes and handbags!
